The elf waved fairwell to Kratos as he went back inside and she set off. The water gently lapping against the side of their boat as they made their way out to open water. She checked the stars as to kep track their progress across the sea.

"I did not realize that you were skilled in sea navigation...you seem to be full of surprises..."

He would softly chuckle, looking up at the night sky to look at the constellations as his expression grew solemn, missing home deeply...

Seren hadn't realized he had spoken but just about managed to remember what he said. She did not reply but noticed the expression he wore. "Is there something on your mind?It would be better if neither of us are distracted on this trip."

"Home...that's what's on my mind...but please, don't worry about me. I will be prepared to do what must be done at a moments notice...homesickness will not keep me from my duty..."

There was really nothing more to tell and the feelings he did have inside of him were only dull memories. His family would not take him back, even if he had begged at their feet...something he would never do in any case...

Seren nodded sensed his unwillingness to say more. "If I could remember where my home was I'd miss it too I should think..." She continued to steer, occasionally making small talk to pass the time till she could see the darkened outline of the mainland shore. She puled about into the harbour and tied up the vessle. "Which rout should we take?"

Ramerox slowly came out of the boat and looked about the night sky, then looked to the back of his left hand, watching as a crimson glyph shined on it as he waved it in front of the forest...and a yellow glyph appearing when he pointed his hand at the open plains...

"It's hard to say...if we take the plains, we cut straight across the continent and approach Tilska, a small town that can offer some better equipment and directions...however, the forest offers better cover, but it looks like that there is evil waiting for us on either path..."

Seren nodded and thought for a moment. "I propose we take the forrest path and use the cover to our advantage. Even if there is evil waiting in there, it can still be slowed down from navigating the trees." She also felt a slight tug towards the trees for reasons she didnt quite understand.

Ramerox nodded, liking that plan as well and shifted his clothing to something more appropriate, the tattered cloth sewing itself closer around his body, conforming closer to his limbs and giving him some better moving capabilities, drawing his sword out from the sheath against his back and warily entered the forest...

As he moved, he kept low to the ground and near the roots of the trees that came out from the ground, creating natural barriers and walls that he had to crawl through and over, providing him adequate cover as he watched the area around him carefully...

Seren too adjusted her clothes to be more form fitting and followed him close behind. Instead of being low to the ground however she jumped gracefully from tree to tree, staying above him at all times, making little to no noise in the branches.

A few minutes had passed in silence between them, ever watchful of any enemy that might attack them and was surprised as, seemingly out of nowhere, a giant hand came around and came in contact with him, sending Ramerox backwards and into the leaves...

"You....shall not...pass, evil being!"The Trent roared out, its gnarled, black branches and body snapping and groaning with its movements,"You are not worthy to wear that ring!"

Seren blinked and watched as he went flying backwards, and she lept down in front of the ent, holding out her arms. "Hold hard there, we mean no harm, we are mearly passing through to find a safe place to kep the rings. You have my word." Something was wrong, so very wrong, she could feel it, like a thick shadow drawing closser.

Ramerox, growling out of anger, slowly stood to confront the Trent, only now, his hood had been pulled back because of coming unbalanced, letting his long, silver hair spill over his shoulders and back, while his face was tattooed with strange glyphs that glowed an eerie, crimson color, his eyes like crystal against his skin that glowed a ghostly violet...

"Being of the Forest...my quarrel is not with you this day...we must pass to protect the The Three Rings..."

Seren was stunned, looking upon Ramerox for the first time without his hood in the way. It was strange, most people would find the glyphs and colour repulsive but in her mind it was quite beautiful. Having dropped her gaurd she got caught by the trent's massive limb and her back snapped across another tree. She droppedto the floor winded and reached for her bow.

"Dreaded being of the shadows, leave this forest! You are not welcome here and take the Elf with you! Any who travels with the likes of you are no better then you are!"

Valdorius' eyes burned with hate for the Trent. He didn't want to fight a creature of the forest, but it seems as though there was no other option and so he summoned his will around him and manifested his hatred into the center of his palms, summoning forth two, large fireballs in his hands that he pressed together to form a much larger one...

"Move aside Trent! I do not wish to harm you, but we must move forward! If you bar us, we will do what we must!"

Seren didn't want there to be a fight any more then Ramerox. She darted around and saw a strange mark on the back of the trent. She thought for a second it looked familiar, a purple cresant moon with three rings overlapping it from top to bottom. She knocked an arrow and looked at Ram. "Hold on I think I can make him stop." She took aim and shot at the mark onb the trent.

The Trent was not distracted by the off-play, alerted by her voice and brought his large hand around, blocking the arrow, but the twist allowed Ramerox to see the symbol...and his eyes widened with surprise...

"It can't...be..."

Taking the moment of opportunity, Ramerox flung the fire ball and hit the Trent on the back, hitting the glyph right on the spot and the Trent howled in pain, but a dark, pulsing energy ripped through the Trent and it grew larger in size, its branches becoming more mangled and horned...

"No...Dalimorian...why...?" He faintly whispered as The Trent continued to howl, only now his words were garbled between English and Elvish and Tree-speak, a weird stream of words that seemed to have no meaning as the giant creature went on its rampage, senselessly attacking the other trees around it in fury...

Seren growled when her arrow was blocked and heared the whispered name but didnt quite understand it, too distraced by the angry tree to pay attention. She aimed another arrow abovee the trent, snapping a large bough to drop on it's head, toppling it over onto it's back. "What just happened, why did it get so angry?" She asked, keeping her distance from the thing.

"The glyph is it's weak point..." Ramerox explained as he regrouped with her, watching as the Trent slowly began to stand up again, "It seems to be a leveled seal however...every hit done onto the glyph will release a level, but in the process...the creature will grow stronger and much more vile...sadly there's no way to know how many levels there are..."

As he explained, the Trent was now rising itself from the ground and roared out them, flinging a small storm of thorns from its mouth and Ramerox, unable to use a spell quick enough, put his back to the creature and kept himself in front of Seren, letting his back be pierced by the dozens of small thorns, protecting her from all of them as he groaned in pain...

The elf yelped and froze in place, shocked by Ramerox's pretectiveness and quickly launched an arrow at it, hitting t's eye, sending it into a wild rage. She pulled him out of the way behind a tree and laid him on his side. She climbed the tree and took aim with her arrow again at the glyph. Shooting it dead centre, drawing her bow for the next strike.

The arrow hit its marks perfectly, a violet ooze spilling from the creature's eye that caused where the ooze to land to sizzle, as if it was acid. However, the arrow striking the glyph seems to have done nothing, merely lodging itself into the wood...

"You...you must use...magic..." Ramerox groaned, slowly standing up and leaning against the tree, his breath low but life still pounded within him, alongside his rage, "Draw on the power of your ring...summon an arrow charged with its element of air and it will fell the symbol...and hopefully the creature too..."

Seren shook slightly, staring at the trent, she looked down at her companion and nodded, jumping to another tree and drawing back her arrow, she looked at her ring and took a deep breath, almost seeing the air swirl around her arrow as it launched forward into the glyph and straight through the trent. She gasped as the wood cracked and split in half.

The Trent screeched in pain as a violet light burst through its body, the glyph shattering like glass and turning into a small pendant on the forest floor...

The Trent's body was lit ablaze by the violet energy and, slowly, the Trent was turned to mere cinders, burning until there was nothing left but ash on the ground and leaving a ring of black all around the ground from where the Trent was destroyed...

Cautiously, Ramerox walked over to the pendant and picked up, brushing off the ash that tainted its beautiful, violet body that glowed like mythril. The pendant was in the same shape as the seal on the Trent's back and Ramerox's eyes narrowed heavily on the jewelry, his claw-like fingers wrapping around the necklace...

"Damn...can it really be you?"

Seren said a small prayer for the trent and his forrest before climbing down carefully to the ground, her mind reeling with forgotten memories then suddenly blank once again. "What did you find Ramerox? " She asked, seeing him looking so intently into his hand.

Ramerox dangled the necklace to her for a moment, letting her look upon the enchanted item, "This is the token that changed the Trent. Whoever gave this to him wished harm upon the Trent and tried to possess the Trent to do their will. Do not worry, the seal was broken, so this necklace no longer works...but this seal...it is one that I have seen before and was used by one that I knew well...someone who is supposed to be dead..."

As he explained this to her, he pocketed the necklace in the pouch of his leggings and removed his shirt, revealing the intricate glyphs and markings that connected to the ones on his arms and face.

He walked towards a small stream near their battle site and, carefully, washed away the pools of blood that marked his back. His blood was an odd, silver color that glittered in the light that beamed down partially through the forest nets above, the blood clotting on the dozens of thorns pierced into his back that he, slowly, and painfully was removing by hand...

Seren nodded and couldnt help looking over his body at all the strange marks. She followed him to the stream and knelt down just behind him. "here let me help." She moved her hand over his back, removing the thorns and letting a small globe of water purify and clean his wounds. She then dug around in her pockets and found some bandages to cover them up. "This person who supposedly died...how did you know him?" She asked, assuming it was a he.
